Jo and Junya

Jo of Queensland shares her story about Junya, rescue dog, and Flyball champion.

Junya, a Rottweiler mix dog, found himself in the care of the RSPCA for 5 months before joining our family at approximately 18 months old. Our old dog BD taught him everything he needed to know about how to be a dog again, have fun and be part of a loving family. Once Junya was ready we got him his first ever foster puppy – he has not looked back, helping to care for over 100 foster puppies and find them their forever homes.

Junya’s other passion is Flyball. We were at the RSPCA Pawswalk and he saw the flyball dogs racing and immediately wanted ago, so we took him along and joined him up to a team and he now holds the title of Australian Flyball Champion and is a proud member of the Qld Awesome Pawsome Team.

Junya is currently busy passing on his knowledge and wisdom to his younger adopted Kelpie brother Judge, in order to prepare him for his future role as foster brother and flyball champion.

This story was a Finalist in the 2018 Advocate® People’s Rescue Story award. This special award is for Aussie pet guardians who have adopted or fostered a companion animal (pet).
