Katrina and Lacey

Almost 7 years ago I began a search for a dog that could possibly learn to alert to my medical condition. A random google search led me to PetRescue where I first saw the strangest looking pup named Donner.

Part of a litter born on Christmas Day this strange looking mutt has been through so much with me. She has saved my life more than once. This small scruffy dog is amazing she excels at everything she does, she loves all and hasn’t got a mean bone in her body.

She is amazing at agility and most of the time I struggle to keep up with her! Then she can put her harness on and walk through a shop like the seasoned professional assistance dog she is. She loves to go to work, collecting printing from the printer is her favorite job even if it is difficult being small she doesn’t give up.

She is an inspiration with a big heart and a great attitude. The best dog I could have hoped for and proof that rescue dogs are as good as any other.

This story was a Finalist in the 2018 Advocate® People’s Rescue Story award. This special award is for Aussie pet guardians who have adopted or fostered a companion animal (pet).
