Jannae of Queensland shares her story about her rescue dog, Jersey.
I went to the RSPCA to adopt a dog, Jersey was in the pound section and wasn’t up for adoption as she had only just got in there the day before. I fell in love instantly and knew I needed her. I had to wait 2 weeks for her as they waited the normal wait period then did all her vet work. I called them every day to check on her! The day I picked her up, is still to this day, the best day of my life.
We were inseparable! We had an immediate bond, she was my saviour, my light at the end of the tunnel, my everything!
Jersey is now almost 7 and is a trainee minddog. I have suffered from severe depressive disorder and borderline personality disorder for the last 18 years and had many suicide attempts. She has been my rock through it all and she is the reason I am still alive today. I thought I was rescuing her from the pound, little did I know at the time but she saved me!
Every time I look at her I see pure unconditional love. She is the sole reason I am still alive!
