Let us tell you a touching tail (tale) of Toby’s trails (trials) and tribulations.
We first met Toby at The Australian Animal Protection Society in January 2018.
His full history is still unknown, yet after investigating we found old adoption posts on Pet Rescue, it would seem he had been up for adoption prior to going to the shelter in 2017.
We were told that Toby had been in foster care and was surrendered to the shelter, and had been there since November 2017.
We visited Toby everyday for a week. The shelter wanted to match pets with pet owners and we were told not to expect him to be cuddly. He seemed to be a quite and withdrawn dog, particularly with males.
He finally started to feel comfortable in our presence on our last visit. To the delight of our little girl we adopted him with support from the shelter in his new home.
Two years on, at ten years old his tri (true) colours are shining through. Toby is more vocal and responsive, hasn’t lost his love for playing ball and travelling in the car, has warmed up to cuddles and has finally found his (furever) forever home.
