I lived in a rental unit at the time Teddy was adopted. While I had tacit permission to have a cat, it hadn't been approved formally by the strata. This didn't stop me planning for my new pet, and I happened to be in a Petstock one day (buying preemptive supplies) and came across an organisation who had some kittens to place. I took Teddy home and sneaked him in and had to hide him for several weeks before he was officially approved. I was terrified of being caught – Teddy didn’t let out a squeak while at the pet store, but as soon as he came home, this tiny bundle let rip with loud and non-stop mewing.

Since then he has totally dominated my house and life – he's a complete character and universally loved by everyone who comes across him. While I've been working from home, he's been attending almost every zoom work meeting I have, and is often asked after if he's running late. I adore being home with him, but I'm pretty sure he's counting down the days until I go back to work (he must be sick of being kissed). I love him to bits.
