Summer makes me smile every day!. It was a challenging start after being crated on a puppy farm for so long. She was 6 – lean, with a hot spot, traumatised & so afraid. She had no people skills, no trust & was new to the sounds of suburbia. She wouldn't come to my fingertips. I had to wait for her to approach me. Would never go outside alone & didn't know how to smell the ground on a walk. Trying thundercoats, drugs & hormonal collars to quell the stress, after 6 mths. all that was needed was LOVE! What a transformation! Summer bonded well with my 12 yr old Cavalier (& the following 2) & she prefers to nestle alongside me now. She sits with me while I teach piano, & my students love to cuddle her. Summer has a magnetic, gentle nature – everybody loves her! Now 9, after being here for 3 years, she's just been successfully assessed to become a Storydog. I can't wait to work with her to help young children overcome their insecurities & gain confidence – just as Summer did. I'm so proud of her achievements. And I'm still smiling – every day!
