I adopted Simba a few years ago after my previous cat had passed away. Walking through the shelter, there were many cats; ones that were super vocal and coming to greet us instantly! However my eyes drew to this one cat who remained curled up in the back on her cage. She was hesitant upon getting close to me, however I knew that bringing her home would be the best thing I could do for her. She was timid and always ran away from my family and I- she was most likely scared from her previous owners and experiences. Overtime my family noticed that Simba became really close to me and had put a great amount of trust in me. The day she sat on my lap was a milestone within itself! Throughout these last years, watching her become increasingly more confident each day has made me the most proud fur baby parent ever! She has taught me to be patient, and that every animal in this world deserves a chance, kindness and respect. She’s the reason why I decided to volunteer at the RSPCA, to help other furry friends in finding their forever, loving home!
