We realised before Christmas that we weren’t going away on holidays and had time to give volunteering in our local community. As a family we love animals and thought this could be how we give back. This is our second set of kittens since then. During remote learning, they have certainly brought laughter, fun and love to our learning times. From kittens who snarled and scratched when human hands approached them to lap-loving snugglers, they add as much to our lives as we do to theirs. They were tiny, malnourished scavengers when they arrived. They would try to eat everything, they were so hungry to now being over 1kg. We love showing them that human hands are gentle, food is aplenty and snuggles never end.
