My family has fostered over 40 kittens but one gorgeous ginger and white boy kitten Dipper was so unwell when we first got him, he had five different kinds of illnesses and was so scared. His sister Mabel recovered more quickly from her illnesses, but Dipper had a relapse and took longer to recover. As he was so ill and shy, we were getting worried about his social development, because he didn’t like to come out and play. Finally his health began to improve and with the help of a toy on a string, Dipper began to come out to play and socialise! He grew in his confidence and social skills, and eventually got a clean bill of health. He was even comfortable enough to take naps on my teenage daughter’s bed and was very friendly with people. Finally, after much searching from the wonderful staff at SDCH, they found a family who were looking for a kitten for their teenage daughter to call her own. We knew Dipper would be perfect for their family so we were sad to see him go but very happy that he had gone to be adopted and had found his forever home.
