It is impossible to express the enormity of Roo's story in a mere 200 words, so here are the key points;
Roo was the runt of a 14 pup litter, and contracted parvo at about 6 weeks old. She survived, but at the cost of her most vital socialisation period. When I adopted her, she still had other medical issues and behavioural issues that needed extensive treatment. I was worried that I had taken on a project far beyond my capabilities, and considered multiple times giving her back. But the world had other plans for her and I. Three years (and over $10,000 dollars) later, her behavioural issues no longer exist, and she is in such good health that she is saving other dog lives by donating blood! She is also the inspiration behind the BLOOD Hound Australia canine blood donor campaign which I started completely on my own and is funded primarily out of my own finances (some people make donations). If I were to win, I would use the prizes to further the campaign.
Here are some links about Roo's personal story and one of her donations. We can also be found on Facebook and Instagram.
