It all started with an email about National Pet Adoption Day. This was a chance to find our future family member and share our love with an animal that simply needed a safe and loving home. Age was no barrier, (dog) breed was no barrier so on 7th February, I set out on a mission. Arriving at the second store (only cats at the first), I met a lovely golden oldies representative. We spoke about her dog with hyper-extension, in splints, awaiting surgery. Another, with cerebal palsy. Off to the side, I noticed a large black dog with not much fur, in the pen. His early history was unknown, he was a stray with no microchip, and had lost most of his fur. His eyes looked kind. My kids met him later that day, they clicked! His future man dad fell for him later that week. Zeke moved in on Valentines Day 2019. His man dad now has a best friend and our teenage son, who suffered from a lifetime of dog nerves, rolls around on the floor with his buddy as though he'd been a dog lover all his life. We adore our affectionate, smart, good-natured, furry family addition.
