I got Sunny as a 6mo FERAL kitten – and I mean feral. She was aggressive, flighty & enjoyed the sight of blood. I picked her up from her previous carer who couldn't manage her behaviour anymore & started her on an intensive program of positive rewards based socialisation. Sunny took a long time to settle but once she started to make progress she didn't stop. Unfortunately her progress was delayed many times by severe illness, ringworm & ended with a diagnoses of chronic stomatitis. This was devastating as with her personality only half redeemed she wasn't able to be adopted anymore. So I kept her & we after trying many medications I ultimately decided that the surgery was the best option for her. She subsequently had all her teeth removed at 1yo by a specialist vet. As she is no longer living in extreme pain her personality has continued to improve in leaps & bounds. Now she is not quite perfect but perfect for me. Seeing her every day just makes me happy that I have saved a little life. Even though she isn't "perfect" she still deserves all the care & effort that the others get.
