Rusty was having vet treatment for heartworm, and happily recovered. He was in care at the RSPCA when I first saw him. He was relaxed with his carer, but frightened when I wanted to pick him up.
I adopted him, and for a few days he tried to dig his way out under the fence. He soon settled down, and even now at 11 years old is still full of energy. With a good yard to run around in, a healthy appetite and the beach close by for outings and exercise, he has become a loving companion and follows me everywhere. He is great company and has no objection to the times he has to be inside. Sometimes I go away for a few days, and can't take him with me, so he resides in countryside Homebush kennels, where he is well cared for and runs around happily with other little dogs.
