Late last year, my friend and I started our own animal rescue to help a local feral cat problem within our community. So far, we have rescued 14 kittens and young cats and are working exceptionally hard to rehome all of them.
Oscar came to us with 8 siblings, all with severe cat flu. My husband and I fostered 4 in the end.
They took a huge amount of work initially. Their eyes were sealed shut with gunk so we were cleaning them 4 times a day. We also has to hand feed and syringe wombaroo mix to help their non existant immune systems.
As we watched them slowly feel better and be able to see again, it was just the best feeling in the world.
Oscar quickly became one of my favourites. He is incredibly cuddly and affectionate and loves to be with us. He also loved all of my dogs from their first meeting!
We couldn't imagine out lives without Oscar and I can't wait to spend the next 15 or so years with him!
Now we are working on building our rescue so we are able to help many kittens as we can during the next season
