Nellie was one of the 13 Spitz who needed rehoming after her owner died. The story of the 13 is an entry in this comp.
She lacked basic training and needed vet care for all of the 4 years she was with us, due to her previous life.
She blossomed, and came to love our other pets, walks in the park, car drives, weekends away at the beach in the campervan.
Sadly she died 6 months ago from CHF due to poor dental health, and other nutritional issues in her early life. She was only 9, but she had the best 4 years of her life with us.
This huge rescue effort saw 13 Spitz rehomed all around the country, and friendships grew in the Spitz community through this rescue.
6 months on, we are about to adopt a 5 year old Spitz who was surrendered in Canberra, her name is Sadie. She arrives in 2 weeks.
We also have 11 yo Kobi who we rescued from Sydney.
Nellie's legacy lives on.
