Mo entered my life at a difficult time, it was my first year managing a rescue through kitten season, experiencing firsthand the heartbreak and difficulties an overwhelming number of cats were experiencing. I was fostering Mo's mum, Stevie, a heavily pregnant 5 month old kitten. Stevie was unable to progress past her first-stage of labour, requiring an emergency c-section with her kittens needing to be resuscitated. Due to her age and lack of maternal instincts, her 3 surviving babies became orphaned – premature, needing critical care and hourly bottle feeding. One of Mo's siblings devastatingly faded, making us determined to change this fate for Mo and his brother, Lou. Despite constant challenges, each day Mo and Lou continued to show strength and slowly achieve milestones from first steps to weaning. Lou found his purrfect furever home quickly. Mo's dependance and obstacles faced, saw a special bond develop – helping us know, he had already found his furever family. We are inseparable! He spends his days at the rescue with me, accompanies me on walks (bush tracks being his favourite!) and snoozing slouched over my neck. We can't wait to see Mo care for and encourage all our future neonatal fosters!
