Originally used as a bait dog, Mia came to us shy and independent. Now 5 years later she is the cuddliest, friendliest not at all like an Alaskan Malamute dog. Unfortunately after a hard start to life already, Mia grew a huge tumour in her hind leg last year and we spent every cent we had to save her life and it was removed. She is now a 3 legged Malamute and very much a local celebrity in our small town. She adjusted to her new life within a week and she was back home enjoying her car rides and steak dinners. She’s been through a lot in her short 7 years but her heart and spirit is so strong – stronger than I could ever be.
