Tips for any rescue dog who has found their perfect home and does not want to share with a new dog:

Be wary of casual “meet and greets”. Don’t show any interest in your blind date, it could be a trick which results in them turning up at your home.
If the worse happens and one manages to infiltrates – try harder. Remember a new dog is a Bad Dog regardless to them trying to make friends and fit in.
Look sad – constantly, mum will probably be more susceptible but try it on anyone passing.
Don’t let your defences down and let them see you enjoying anything, like a sneaky sniff of Bad Dogs butt.
If YOUR family and Bad Dog are hanging out, do not join in. Sit somewhere else – and look sad.
Don’t rush to the door when you hear the “W” word. In fact refuse to go, sit on the drive and mournfully watch them leave.
Remember your obedience training – and do the opposite.
Last resort – stop eating. This is a tough one to follow through but could be a game changer.
Good luck my furry comrades.
