I'd been renting on my own for years and desperately wanted a dog but the landlord wouldn't allow pets. Eventually I decided to take matters into my own hands and got my finance organised so I could buy my own home AND have a dog.
Once I found my home, I immediately started searching all the animal rescue places and pounds up and down the NSW and QLD coast. I would apply for adoption only to receive an email that someone else had got in first. But I didn't worry and I certainly didn't give up because I knew my baby was just waiting for me to find her. I just had to keep looking.
Then one day I came across a photo of Dora on The Silver Woof's Facebook page. My heart melted and I knew I had found my baby. I contacted Wally's Doggie Rescue – her amazing foster carer – and a few days later I met Dora for the first time. It was love at first sight and it's been love morning, noon and night ever since.
Finding each other has given us both a home. I'm so happy!
