After losing our elderly rescue dog suddenly, I contacted GSD rescue NSW to say we had space to foster another older dog. A couple of days later, I was asked if we could take on a young dog that wasn’t coping in the pound.
Diesel arrived so underweight that we could see every rib and his hip bones. His paws were raw from his chewing them and he had lost his “voice”… it took 3 days to return.
We were determined to return him to full health.
Over the last 2 months Diesel has steadily gained weight and is a truly beautiful, energetic young German Shepard who has become part of our family and enjoys nothing more than hanging out with us. The old leather couch in our familyroom is one of his favourite spots and he keeps our teenage son company while he games / does his homework.
His favourite toy is “Sheepie” a soft toy that adores (after removing the eyes!)
Diesel is definitely part of our family and his adoption officially came through in early July.
