Approximately 6 months after one of my beloved dogs passed away suddenly, I was looking to get a new dog to keep my other dog company, and to complete my canine family! After looking at rescue sites, a friend at the dog park yelled across the oval "Hey Kate, you don't want a 10 year old Portugese Water Dog for free do you?". I froze. Oh my goodness, what was about to happen? So I checked out the story. Bud had been locked in a dog crate for 2 years and starved. He was rehomed but that family didn't care for him. They tried to rehome him once, however he was returned the next day. Before I knew it, I had picked up Bud and as they say, the rest is history. It has been a huge 18 months. Bud's anxiety is channelled into activity and routine, and most excitingly he goes to the park everyday with my other dog to run free ! He's rolls on his back kicking his legs in the air, he's clumsy, and he gives amazing body hugs. He sleeps next to me in bed snoring. Bud is finally finally home. Welcome home Bud.
